American TESOL Institute will provide full assistance to the ESL teachers for acquiring Visa but the entire cost of the Visa would have to be given by the teachers. The English teachers to Thailand have to come with a Non Immigrant B Visa. The ESL teachers can also enter Thailand on a 30 days transit Visa. After coming to the country the teachers can try for Non Immigrant B visa.

The problem of getting a Non Immigrant B visa from the home country is that the embassy mentions the name of the school where you are going to work. In case, you need to change the school the visa will become invalid and the teachers will have to get a new visa. To avoid this hassle, the teachers can also come to Thailand with 60 days tourist visa and then go for a Visa run to Laos.

For a Visa run the teachers will have to spend around 5000 to 6000 baht approximately, which includes transportation, accommodation, Laos Vida and Thai Non Immigrant Visa. The teachers will have to pay for this but the schools will help you in this entire process.

American TESOL Institute will send the teachers relevant papers required to acquire a Visa, fifteen days before. Non Immigrant B Visa cannot be acquired from a third country in case the teachers are already traveling. In this case, the TESOL teachers will have to go for a Visa run.

The ESL teachers in Thailand will get a work permit only after they secure a Non Immigrant B Visa. The teachers would have to provide the copies of educational documents, passport pages, health certificate and photographs and the schools will give the processing fee for the work permit.

*In the case of shifting to a different school (different province) once the work permit has been arranged for, the teacher is responsible for bearing the cost of a new work permit.
