China is an oriental country endowed with beautiful landscapes and wonderful people. The fascinating historical relics of China have been attracting tourists to this country from time immemorial.
Where is China?
China is one of the biggest Asian countries having fourteen countries as its borders. China also has its water boundaries as Yellow Sea and East China Sea. China has a huge area, which contributes to its diverse territorial landscapes.
Language of China
China is a huge country and its diversity also reflects in the languages spoken in this country. The official language of China is Putonghua or Standard Mandarin. Mandarin and Cantonese Chinese are spoken by majority of the Chinese people. Some other languages, which are also used commonly, are Mongolian, Tibetan, Uyghur and Zhuang.
Climate of China
Climate of China is very varied as the landscape of this country is vastly different. The Climatic conditions of China are mostly dominated by the monsoon winds. The climate in the Southern part of China is hot and all year round this part of the country gets plenty of rainfall. In the north eastern part of China the winters are long and very cold. Northwestern part of China is equally cold during winter season but it experiences long and hot summers. Temperature varies in the altitudes significantly.
Religions in China
Three types of religions are mostly in practice among Chinese people, which are Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism and Islam are also some of the other religions practiced in China.

Clothing for China
The ESL teachers going to China should carry clothes for both
summers and winters. For the summers carry light colored cotton clothes and
for winters carry many woolen clothes as the temperature in north of China
can drop near 0 degree Celsius.
